Salavant is a creature of pure joy and glee, but beware he's liable to hug you to death if you get too close.

100 Monstrous Mutations #3 Klom the Umbilical

This is Klom the Umbilical and his sybiotic little friend Kultch, forever attached together for the rest of eternity. Needless to say, they don't get along!

King of the Jungle Sketch

I don't know what it is about lions but I just think they're so cool. I think they have officially overtaken Dinosaurs as my favourite thing to doodle! Move over Dinosaurs, your time has passed, bring on the king of the jungle!

Fascinating fact about Lions: they hate Todd Carty, who'd have thought?

Kibble the Cat

I like this little guy, think he's kind of cool and looks sightly mad, which can only be a good thing.

Woody the Hoodie and Tupac

Been out of action for a short while, but back at the old drawing board again. This one is 'Woody the Hoodie' and his pet pitbull 'Tupac'. I wanted to come up with some characters in the vain of the old Oink, Buster, Beano comics, like 'Dennis the Menace', 'Tom Thug', 'Burp the alien', 'Pete and his Pimple' kind of thing. Anyway this the first concept drawing of the guys!

Doctor who?

Anyone who knows me knows of my passion for all things Doctor Who, ever since I first witnessed the amazing Tom Baker version when I was a kid. This show was the doorway to my love of all things science fiction and fantasy and to some extent my love of comics. Reading those strips in Doctor Who magazine all those years ago really managed to capture my imagination.

Anyway, as some will know, last nights episode of Russell T Davies' revamped Who ended with David Tennants wonderful tenth Doctor seemingly shot down by the blast of a Dalek gun just as he was trying to run into the arms of his long lost love Rose Tyler (sniff). And the the episode ended with the Doctor apparently about to regenerate into his next incarnation? As this may be my last chance to pay tribute to the Doctor who has pushed Tom Baker pretty hard for number one spot in my list of favourite Doctors (sorry Peter Davidson but you've lost your second place), I present my picture of the Tenth Doctor.
Now anyone reading this who doesn't like Doctor Who may want to stop reading now as the following is rather geeky and my theories on why I believe that this whole regeneration thing is a ruse and Tennant is not finished yet:
a) There have apparently been photo's on the web showing Tennant filming the up coming Cyberman Christmas special.
b) As good as last nights episode was, Tennant was barely in it? Russell T Davies knows that Tennant is far too good an actor to waste his talent and then just kill him off in such a cold way without a tearful farewell and typical end of era Doctor type speech (look at the way he handled Eccleston's exit, brilliantly done).
c) Why did we not see the new Doctor? Surely if there is going to be a new Doctor why leave it until next week to see who it is? Doesn't this leave it open for the press to have a full week to speculate over or confirm who the next Doctor is? Why keep such a good secret only to open yourselves up for the surprise to be ruined. The cliff hanger last night would not have been harmed last night if anything it would have had more impact if a new Doctor would have appeared?
Anyway, that's my rant over. One things for certain I can't wait for next Saturday???

The Boy - coloured

Here's the coloured version of the 'Boy', who still doesnt have a name yet? Things are looking pretty good, I've got loads of little story ideas bubbling away, so with any luck I should have a strip or two up in the next few weeks. Whether they will be any good or not is debatable but I'm determined to give it a go. If only I can stop watching 'Gavin and Stacey' and get some drawing done!

Boy and the Bear - remastered revisited

And below is the Bear, slightly more revised than the Boy as I've changed the eyes and the general body shape.

Boy and the Bear - remastered

After a short delay, in which my computers been out of action, I'm finally back online and introduce the new and improved designs for my new comic strip characters. Below is the 'boy' from the up and coming 'Boy and the Bear'. I think these three give a good example of his personality.

The Boy and the Bear

So, here's my other webcomic idea. It's called 'The Boy and the Bear' and is about the relationship between a little boy and his best friend, a bear.

Brian and Kenny Returned

Inspired by my recent foray into the world of Beaver and Steve, and by how much I enjoyed doing my little effort, the web comic fire that burn within me have been re lit, so I've been back at work at not one but two web comic ideas. Below is my redesign of the Brian and Kenny characters seen previously on my blog here. I'll post my other idea shortly.

Runner Up?

It appears by some minor miracle that I've managed to win one of the runners up prizes for 'the great Beaver and Steve guest artist competition'. Wow! I'm seriously blown away that I made it anywhere near the top 4 with my lame effort, shown below. I'm sometimes accused of being rather harsh on my own work as I generally think my stuff isn't as good as others seem to think it is. Anyway, I love the work of the seriously talented and winner Dan Woodhouse, but I have to admit I have a real soft spot for my fellow runner up, Drew Morkis' version of the strip, I'm almost embarrassed that my work came in anywhere near this.

Sinister Santa

Beaver and Steve Tribute

Here's a piece of fan art, which is my intepritation of the characters from the rather wonderful 'Beaver and Steve'. Oh, how I envy the pure genius of this comic, curse you James Turner!!!!

Sunday 13 April 2008

Another Dinosaur.

It's another Dinosaur picture. Roooooaaaar!

New T-shirt design - Ghost Busters

Here's another T-shirt design, yes the humour is rather crude but hey that's me! Any resemblance to Bloo from 'Fosters home' is purely coincidental! (nervous grin) And does anybody actually refer to breasts as 'Busters' anymore?

Original Lineart.

Various coloured T-shirt versions.

Afro-Man

Here's another comic strip character I'm working on, this guy is called Afro-man. A superhero with a super powered afro, what more do you need to know?Original Lineart.

Coloured version.

Brian and Kenny

Here's a couple of Characters from a potential comic strip I have in mind. The one with the scarf is called Kenny and the one with the tie is called Brian.

Original lineart is followed below by the coloured versions.

Cyclops Cat

Ah the beauty of mindlessly doodling while on the phone at work, on the odd occation you can come up with some little gems. This is Cyclops Cat, I kind of like him, he looks rather sad, poor little guy.

Anyway I'm thinking of doing something further with him, whether that just be a coloured picture or a comic strip, I'm not sure yet.

This aint the last we've seen of Cyclops Cat.......he will return!

Eadesisms and Boris

After numerous attempts to try and name this site, rangeing from the unfathomable 'How did they know I was here?' to the rather lame 'Mastery of the Magic Carpet' I have returned to good old 'Eadesism' which is, after all, what I call any little sketch I do, an Eadesism.

Due to a childhood in which I was raised surrounded by Dashounds, or as some call them 'Sausagedogs', or as the Americans call them 'Weinerdogs'? The Eadesism mascot was born and is presented below in all his freaky, stumpy legged glory.

What you want a name for the little guy? Ok, we'll call him Boris for reasons which will only be known to my brother .....perhaps?

Mermaid

Can't say I'm particulary happy with this one, in fact I prefer the line art to the coloured version. Anyway this was drawn for my Daughter because of her love of well....Mermaids! Original lineart.
Coloured version.

Robot

It had to happen, it's a robot picture. Thought the original mouth made this fella look too much like Bender from Futurama, trust me it wasnt supposed to. Original lineart.

Coloured version.

Holmes and Watson

Ah, the amiable Mr Sherlock Holmes and Doctor John Watson, two of my favourite characters. Here I present an old sketch I did probably about a year ago but rediscovered while trawling through some old drawings and thought I’d give it the old colour treatment. I like the contrast in skin tones, what with Holmes being very pale skinned and vampiric (is that a word?). I was tempted to put puncture wounds on Holmes’ wrist to indicate his love of Heroin but decided against it. Perhaps Watson’s hair should be rather more grey but lets assume this is them in their younger years. Original lineart.

Dinosaur Attack

You can't go wrong with a Dinosaur picture.Original lineart.

Space Citidel

This is some sort of weird futuristic space city built on an asteroid.

Original lineart from my sketchbook.
